Sharad Jain
Sharad Jain is a prolific energy investor with over 25 years’ experience in energy infrastructure, during which he has made investments and completed financings of over ~$20 billion, supporting more than 15 GW of power capacity across APAC, EMEA and Latin America.
In his current role as Chief Investment Officer, Sharad leads Cube Green Energy’s investment strategy and portfolio management across its Onshore Wind, Agri-PV and BESS businesses. He oversees the company’s investment activities to support its continued growth and also manages the strategic procurement process across markets and technologies.
As a co-founder of Cube Green Energy, Sharad has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s development and investment approach since its inception. He has been instrumental in acquiring the seed assets for the company’s wind repowering platforms in Germany and France, as well as leading its expansion into Agri-PV. Through his considerable experience in leading investments across a range of technologies and expertise in structuring and managing large, complex transactions, Sharad has established a strong reputation in the European energy M&A sector.
Prior to founding Cube Green Energy, Sharad led the EMEA investment team for General Electric Capital (GE) in London, following eight years with GE Capital in India, where he established the Indian subcontinent business for GE Capital Energy Investments and successfully built a portfolio valued at approximately $400 million across various renewable energy platforms in India and APAC.
Sharad is a gold medallist in MBA (Finance) from IMT, India, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Surat (India).
